Congrats to Chase Engelhard (Class of 2020), who has signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Tulane University in New Orleans. Engelhard will receive athletic and academic scholarships to play for the Green Wave, who compete in the American Athletic Conference. Engelhard was recruited as a shortstop for the NCAA Division I team.
Riverwood Baseball Head Coach Trey Henson notes, "Chase is a quality player, student, and young man. He has extremely projectable physical abilities. I look for him to have a great year at Riverwood this spring and make an impact early at Tulane."
Engelhard, a four-year varsity letterman in baseball, was named to the 2019 All Region baseball team. He also earned a varsity letter in football at Riverwood his freshman year. Engelhard played summer/travel ball this past summer for the East Cobb Yankees, and for 643 DP Athletics for many years prior to that. He was named a 2017-18 Perfect Game Pre-Season All American. Off the playing field, Engelhard is an honors student involved with men's choir, Beta Club, and Jewish Student Union. He volunteered for many years with Christopher League baseball for differently abled players, and Jocks for Socks philanthropy. Chase is the son of Suzy and Hadley Engelhard of Sandy Springs.
