Amaechi Morton

Amaechi Morton (Class of 2008) was a four-year letterman in Track & Field. His very impressive resume includes State Championships in the 4x400m relay, and two State titles in the 300m Hurdles. Morton was the Atlanta Track Club 300m Hurdler of the Year and the North Fulton Athlete of the Year. He holds school records in the 300m Hurdles and the 4x400m Relay. In his senior year, Morton was ranked fifth in the nation in the 400m and earned a track scholarship to Stanford University.

At Stanford, Morton won both the 2011 and 2012 NCAA Track & Field Academic Scholar Athlete of the Year award. He holds the Stanford University record in the 400m hurdles. In 2012, he was the NCAA Division I 400m Hurdle Champion.

Internationally, Morton won the 2012 Nigerian National 400m Hurdles and competed in the 2012 Olympics as a member of the Nigerian track team.

The Raiders inducted Morton to the Athletic Hall of Fame in 2016.
